Objective:
To discuss the increasing vulnerability of coastal residents and visitors to coastal hazards. The workshop will serve to inform stakeholders at all levels about the science and uncertainties associated with coastal vulnerability, its societal drivers, economic impacts, and how communities and the nation are preparing for the challenges involved. Issues to be addressed include consequences resulting from coastal population and land use changes, and the development of strategies to cope with the growing risks from weather-related and other types of coastal hazards.
