Statement of Task
The National Research Council Committee on Acute Exposure Guideline Levels (AEGLs) will review proposed AEGLs for extremely hazardous substances developed by an interagency National Advisory Committee (NAC). The NRC Committee on AEGLs will: (1) review the proposed AEGLs for scientific validity, completeness, internal consistency, and conformance to published NRC guidelines; (2) review the NAC's research recommendations and identify additional priorities for research to fill data gaps; and (3) review periodically the recommended standard procedures for developing AEGLs.
