Public Briefing: Abrupt Impacts of Climate Change: Anticipating SurprisesBoard on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate
December 3, 2013
Location: The Marian Koshland Science Museum Washington DC
The National Research Council invites you to a public briefing for the release of Abrupt Impacts of Climate Change: Anticipating Surprises on Tuesday, December 3 from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Koshland Science Museum at 6th & E Streets, NW. The study examines the likelihood of various physical components of the Earth system to undergo major and rapid changes (e.g., a shutdown of ocean circulation, ice sheet disintegration, etc.), explores how to monitor climate change for warnings of abrupt changes and emerging impacts, and identifies high priority needs for future research directions and monitoring capabilities. Speakers include the Chair of the authoring committee, Dr. James White from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and committee member Anthony Barnosky from the University of California at Berkeley.
The event will be webcast at this page.
