Information and Communications: Challenges for the Chemical Sciences in the 21st Century (2003) This workshop on Information and Communications was the third in a series of six workshops. The workshop focused on the sustained mutual growth and interdependence of the chemical sciences and information communities. One finding that arose out of the workshop presentations was that a strong infrastructure at the intersection with IT will be critical for the success of the nation's research investment in chemical sciences and technology. The intersection represents a frontier ripe with opportunity, but major technical progress can only be expected if additional resources are provided for research, education, and infrastructure.
