| Spacecraft Water Exposure Guidelines for Selected Contaminants, Volume 3 (2008) The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) maintains an active interest in the environmental conditions associated with living and working in spacecraft and identifying hazards that might adversely affect the health and well-being of crew members. One concern is exposure to spacecraft water contaminants. Despite major engineering advances in controlling conditions within spacecraft, some water and air contamination is inevitable. As part of its efforts to promote safe conditions, NASA asked the National Research Council to develop guidelines for establishing spacecraft water exposure guidelines for individual water contaminants and to review NASA's recommended exposure limits to determine they are consistent with those guidelines. This report, which is Volume 3 in a series, establishes exposure concentrations for antimony, benzene, ethylene glycol, methanol, methyl ethyl ketone, and propylene glycol. More... |
