Behavioral, Social, & Economic Dimensions

All Topics >> This Topic's: Publications :: Meetings :: Ongoing Studies

Understanding how human actions contribute to and are affected by environmental change, including our vulnerability and resilience to changes in climate, is important to the development of strategies that could be used to respond to climate change. Studies of the interactions of climate change and other environmental changes with human systems include behavioral and social science research in areas such as demography, economics, history, anthropolgy, political science, and sociology. The National Research Council carries out a variety of studies, workshops, and meetings and publishes numerous reports on science-policy issues related to the behavioral, social, and economic dimensions of environmental change.
