A key goal of the Committee on Emerging Issues and Data on Environmental Contaminants was to provide a forum for addressing the governmental perspective on the emerging issues the committee identifies. The Federal Liaison Group was created to ensure that a multi-agency government perspective is represented. This group included representatives from key federal agencies that deal with the implications of toxicology, especially in the new developing areas of toxicogenomics and proteomics. The Federal Liaison Group provided input and suggestions for meeting topics and participated in the public meetings.
