ILAR's website provides a wealth of information. Virtually all pages are likely to be useful to the research scientist.
Starting with ILAR Journal, full, searchable, electronic versions of ILAR Journal (from 1995) and ILAR News (from 1989 to 1994) are available. Want to know more about pain? Do a search and find numerous articles.
Books & Reports list a number of reports and guidelines on various aspects of laboratory animal welfare and use, some of which are free. These guidelines can help you to ensure you are in full compliance with current best practice.
The section on Animals Models & Strains will help you find that special strain or species critical to the success of your project. It also directs you to the rules of genetic nomenclature for mice and rats. If you have produced your own strain, you may need an internationally recognized Laboratory Code. You can generate this yourself, online at Lab Code Registry.
Links provide direct access to the websites of government departments, libraries, databases, journals, and organizations with an interest in, or of relevance to, the use of laboratory animals in research.
In an online e-newsletter, "What's New at ILAR," you can find the latest on ILAR meetings, reports, ILAR Journal issues, and other research community news.
