Logistical Information

Schedule
The 2009 Summer Institute will be held beginning the evening of Sunday, June 21, 2009, and running through the afternoon on June 26, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison. A more detailed schedule will be made available at a later date.

University of Wisconsin
The University of Wisconsin is one of the premiere research universities in the country with a particular strength in the life sciences. More than 750 UW faculty members in 68 departments and programs distributed among seven schools and colleges conduct research in the biological sciences and there are over 40 related undergraduate majors for students to choose from!

The Wisconsin Program for Scientific Teaching and the Center for Biology Education are The National Academies' partners for the Summer Institute.


Madison
Madison is always ranked as one of the top places to live, work, and visit. Its beautiful surroundings and laid-back atmosphere provide a great setting for the Summer Institute. While you're in town, take a walk out to Picnic Point, visit the Wisconsin State Capitol, stop at a bar or cafe along State Street, and don't miss the world-famous Babcock Hall Ice Cream from the Dairy Store or the Union.
